Shopping

We want you to love your Elyse Allen cashmere! Returns and exchanges may be made within 14 days of purchase. If you are not completely satisfied with your order, you may exchange your item and we will ship your new item with no additional shipping cost. Items must be in new and in unworn condition. Please call or email us with your request ASAP and we will work with you to make sure you're happy.

Normally, our sale items are all FINAL SALE, but we are now happy to offer store credit, since people can't shop with us in person during these unfun COVID days. So, you can always exchange a product for another size or style- you won't be stuck with something that you don't love! You can also keep the store credit for a rainy day- it will never expire!

If we lower the price on an item that you’ve purchased in the past, we are happy to offer a price adjustment within 14 days of your original order. Price adjustments are only refunded as store credit. Accessories that are already on sale are not eligible for price adjustments.

Since we are located in Santa Fe, NM, state sales tax of 8.4375% will be added to your order if it is shipping within the state of New Mexico. 

Yes, we will make your gift look great! Just leave a note during checkout with the details. We're happy to write a pretty gift card as well, just let us know what you'd like it to say. We will then exclude the receipt with the shipment.

USPS priority mail & UPS options vary and can be chosen at check out.

For international shipping, please contact us for estimated cost and delivery time since it varies so much from country to country. 

Our packages are insured and shipped with a tracking number that you will be provided with once you place the order.

We ship orders Monday - Friday.

We can ship your items to you via USPS Express or UPS Next Day Air for an additional cost, as long as we have the item in stock. Please contact us for more details.

Sizing

Our cashmere knits do stretch a good deal. Some of the merino gloves we make are a 'one size' since the Italian merino we use to knit with is very stretchy, otherwise we generally do a S, M, L sizing. The sizing for our knit gloves is a little different than that in formed gloves (e.g. leather gloves with fingers), since finger length is not a factor with our ‘fingerless’ gloves. The width of the hand is how we base our knit sizing. Our gloves have stretch, and the majority of women find the size medium to fit well. If you have tiny hands, you are most likely a small. If you have large paws, you'd best be suited ordering a size large. There are some styles that we knit that run a little bit smaller or larger (like the Featherweight) or have a slight size variation from one color to another- please feel free to send us a message and ask about a particular style and color to be sure! Also, some people prefer a more snug fitting glove, while others like their gloves looser. So, generally, size medium should work, and if not, you can always exchange for a smaller or larger size! If you are already a proud owner of Elyse Allen Textiles fingerless gloves and can't remember your size, just contact us- we keep good notes!

The sizing for our hats is different from the sizing for formed hats (that have specific hat sizes relating to head circumference), since there is so much stretch in our cashmere knits, and also variation in the fit that people prefer (some like their hats very slouchy, some like a hat fitted but need it to cover their ears, and some like more of a cute beanie). Most women wear a size medium if they like a closer fit, or a large for a slouchier fit, or if they a larger head, or have a lot of hair. Certain styles lend themselves to looking better and are more comfortable larger (like the Sea Urchin and Star Cloche), and other styles like the Crystal Cloche are more of a straightforward fit.

Care Instructions

For fingerless gloves, hats and headbands, hand wash in cold water with a gentle product such as Ecover laundry wash or Woolite. Do not wring out the water- use a clean, dry towel to roll the wet cashmere accessory in and air dry flat. Do not machine wash or use a clothes dryer! You may also dry clean all accessories if you are more comfortable.

For embellished studded scarves and shawls, use a professional dry cleaner. If the edges curl from humidity, you may safely flatten them back out by using a steam iron on the inside (unembellished) side of the scarf or shawl.

Moths love cashmere. Cleaning your well-worn product prior to summer storage is a great idea. Make sure the accessories are completely dry before storing away in a moth-proof bag. Pheromone clothing moth traps are a great, odorless, non-toxic alternative to moth balls. We love the ‘Safer’ brand moth traps that are available for purchase online.

We take great care in hand making our products with the best possible materials and workmanship. If there is a defect in manufacturing, we will repair or replace it at no cost for a period of 14 days from the date of sale. Normal wear and tear is expected and is not covered, however we have a great professional textile repair person for you to contact should you ever need repair in the future for your knit accessories. Clean your cashmere at least once a year and protect it from exposure to moths as much as possible.
